In 2003 Melissa Bacelar and her Husband Jeff Spinner moved to Los Angeles with their two Cocker Spaniels Stan Lee and Clarence.  Shortly after landing in La La land they heard a term that completely shocked them.. Kill Shelter. They found out that in LA every state run shelter and humane society killed adoptable animals when they ran out of room. And they also learned that every shelter received 100's sometime 1000's of animals a week. Together they have been building an organization that they ope will change the way people see pets. They want to make California and every State No Kill by building a sanctuary that educates the public, rehabilitates the animals and helps the environment.. While Melissa is saving the world one dog at a time. Jeff is inventing Green ways to run a shelter. This is a life long dream and will be a life long project. But they plan to save the lives of not only animals but humans too. By showing them the beauty of loving a pet.
While the TPF is in the process of being built there are many ways you can help!

We need FOSTER homes! Our fosters promise to love and cherish our animals until a forever home is found! We will provide all vet care, food, beds, toys and anything else our TPF superstar will need!

If you can't foster please DONATE! Each dog we take in needs shots, spay/neuter and a microchip. This costs anywhere from $150 to $350 depending on the
age of the dog.

Our Food bill is over $1000 a month !! So feel free to donate for CARE below! If you prefer to donate beds, leashes, food! You can drop those off to us. They are greatly appreciated

Our Plan
In the next five years TPF plans to build a no kill shelter in one of the most high kill areas in Southern California. We want to show the residence that dogs, cats and bunnies deserve a chance at a happy life. Our plan is to have several cage free areas where the animals can learn to play and live happily until their perfect family is found.

One of the most important parts of the foundation will be our education center. Children and teens from the surrounding areas will be able to come in and learn about the importance of spay and neuter. They will also be able to help with grooming, training and even interacting with our superstars. All of our human visitors will be able to apply to volunteer at TPF. Each volunteer must go through a training program.  We think that change begins with education. Who better to make a change in this world then kids.  We plan to work closely with schools and foster programs in our area!

If you would like to donate to our education program Click below. All donations marked Education will go towards the building of our center and the funding of school trips!
